On 6 May, 2024, Dr. Nian Peng, Director of RCAS, accepted an interview from Hong Kong China News Agency (HKCNA) on the Philippines' Denial of the "New Model" in managing the SCS Disputes. He analyzed the negative effects of  the Philippines' Denial on China-Philippines relations and the SCS situation.
