Dr. Yasiru Ranaraja is an Non-resident Fellow at the Hong Kong Research Center for Asian Studies (RCAS), Hong Kong, as well as Founder and Editor of BRISL (www.brisl.org), a platform dedicated to informed dialogue on China–Sri Lanka cooperation. His research interests span the legal and policy dimensions of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Global South development, regional security, Special Economic Zones, and the advancement of green shipping regulations. Recent work has focused on sustainable maritime initiatives, particularly port development, green technology adoption, and international best practices, linking academic insights with actionable policy recommendations. Yasiru has participated in major international forums, including the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the Yulin International Energy Expo, the Global South Media Conference, and the Maritime Silk Road Cities Mayors Exchange. In 2025, he served as a speaker at the Boao Forum for Asia Conference, underscoring his role as a young voice in international policy dialogue.
