Dr. Sypha Chanthavong is Non-resident Fellow of the Hong Kong Research Center for Asian Studies (RCAS), and Head of Post Graduate Studies Division, Faculty of Law and Political Science, National University of Laos, Lao PDR. He received his PhD from Chiang Mai University, Thailand and Master from the Nagoya University, Japan. He is the author of Law on Environmental and Natural Resources of Lao PDR (2020). He also published dozens of research papers on hydropower development, water resources, and tourism industry in Lao PDR. Apart from his research, he teaches Good Governance and Decentralization, Legal Research Methodology, National and International Environmental Law for both graduate and undergraduate students at the National University of Laos. His main interests are international environmental law and hydropower development in Lao PDR.
