Dr. Jayshree Borah is a Non-resident Fellow of Research Centre for Asian Studies(RCAS), China, and an independent consultant and visiting fellow at Tezpur University. She has a PhD in International law and Diplomacy from Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai. She worked with Asian Century Foundation, New Delhi as a short term project consultant. Previously she has worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Chinese Studies. She worked on various projects related to foreign policy and diplomacy at the Institute such as Kolkata to Kunming Forum (K2K initiative), ‘The Diplomacy of India and China: Content, Capacity and Methods’ etc. Her areas of interests are Chinese foreign policy and global governance, Non- Western theories and Global South Perspective, Chinese International relations theories, China-Middle East, China-South East Asia, Chinese peace building in conflicted countries, etc. She obtained her master’s degree from Department of political science, University of Delhi. She also holds an M.Phil. Degree from Department of East Asian Studies, University of Delhi. She has been a recipient many scholarships by Chinese Government and Indian Government, i.e. BRICS countries Fellowship by Chinese Ministry of Commerce 2014, China’s Indian Embassy Fellowship 2016-2017, and Chinese Government Scholarship 2017-2021. Her research papers have been accepted in numerous international conferences, such as British Post Graduate Chinese Studies Conference at China Centre, Oxford University, June 2022, New York Conference on Asian Studies (NYCAS), held in New York October 2019, Shanghai-Middle East Conference 2019 etc. Her writing has appeared in reputed journals such as China Report and magazines such as the Diplomat, Money Control etc.
